8865-2015 is the latest standard from the FIA for plumbed-in fire suppression systems. It has been a great development for the safety requirements across many of the highest levels of racing and in some of the harshest environments for fire suppression systems to be relied upon. Since the FIA implemented this new standard, FEV have consistently been at the forefront of fire safety technology ensuring we are always ahead of the competition in supplying the most advanced systems that meet the strict testing and regulations for this standard.

In 2019 FEV developed and launched their new and highly anticipated product range for FIA Standard 8865, the N-TEC Series. These systems have been designed and developed to use 3MTM NovecTM 1230 Fire Protection Fluid as their next generation of fire-fighting suppressant. This clean agent suppressant not only extinguishes a fire in a matter of seconds, but it will also help to protect any valuable assets fitted on a motorsport vehicle, including electronics. Because Novec 1230 fluid is a waterless fire suppressant, it leaves no residue and is electrically non-conductive.

The FEV 8865 range has been designed to provide customers with one of the simplest but most effective installations on the market. Using one multi angle cockpit bar nozzle and then two engine X nozzles the system allows for rapid installation.

8865 is mandatory for the following race classes WRC, R5, R3, R2, WRX, GT3, T1, RG-T and TCR.
